Welcome
Through out the early years of our ministry The Spirituals recorded annual projects at a local studio. In 1989, we did our first recording with the Eddie Crook Company, on the "Harvest" label, releasing our first national single, "Teach Me To Pray", written by Kelly Moss which charted in the Singing News Top 100. Since that time we have released several singles to national radio stations.
After recording two projects with the Eddie Crook Company the opportunity arose to record with Daywind Records on the Emerald Bay label. With this new recording came The Sprirtuals first radio single to chart nationally in the Singing News Top 80. The song "Every Time I Cry", written by Depp Britt, of the Cumberland Boys. The Lord blessed The Spirituals by allowing this heart-touching song to chart in the Singing News Top 80. We received many calls and letters from people whose hearts were changed from hearing the song. In March of 1990, we completed the first live recording in front of a sell out crowd at the Texas Trubador Theater in Nashville, TN. The Lord's presence was definetly in the room that night and with that recording came two new single releases, "Master's Lullaby", and "He's Never Been Late", both written by annointed songwriter Rob Buckner. The next two projects to follow were recordings entitled "Holding On" and "Our Favorites, Volume I". "Our Favorites" is a project of the groups most requested and best loved hymns throughout the years. The Spirituals latest project, "Still Climbing" is available now. We have recnetly begun working on a new project and look forward to a release date in late Spring!!!
Awards & Honors
The Spirituals consider traveling and ministering for Christ our greatest honor in life; however, throughout our years of ministry we have received various awards. Some of those include placing second in 1991, and first in 1992, in a gospel talent contest at the Kentucky State Fair sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau. We have also competed a few times in the talent search at the National Quartet Convention; where two years in a row we placed in the top ten of over fifty groups competing. There have been several other awards throughout the years, but the greatest rewards have been the many, many lost souls we have seen come to Christ through our ministry.
Current Mission
The Spirituals have been called to one mission and that is to "minister for teh Lord Jesus Christ". We are praying that in the days to come we will be called upon more and more for the Lord. Our number one goal is to reach lost souls for Christ, by sharing our family love for Jesus with our other families and people in need.
